Following a long night's sleep in Fairbanks we're off to Denali for the next seven days. A long awaited week during which we hope the skies will cleat if for only an hour's view of Denali/McKinley.
Fairbanks is the largest city we've seen since Calgary. No touring here so not much to report except a delicious Vietnamese dinner at Little Saigon. Per the reviews its like sitting in mom's kitchen as everything is made fresh. Yum yum. Our second Vietnamese run restaurant in a week. Clearly this region was a popular destination point for GIs returning from SE Asia.
Prior to Fairbanks we did make it to Chen a Hot Springs for two days (of the originally planned four day stay). We could have passed on this opportunity. We didn't appreciate the hideous campground, sans sanitation, water, or Front Desk civility. the road to the hot springs is a wildlife arcade with moose abound, many fishing and forest trail turnouts. All we can advise is skop the commercial venture at the end of the road. Surely better managed hot springs elsewhere.
Ciao for now.
